The addition of our Strawberry Balsamic gives this deliciously classic dessert an extra layer of rich sweetness and warmth.
Yield: makes about 1 c,
Time: 3 hours
Preheat the oven to 200°.
Hull each strawberry with a sharp paring knife. Leave especially small berries whole and cut larger ones in half if. In a bowl, sprinkle the berries with half of the c sugar. The berries should look slightly moist. Add more sugar until they take on a shiny appearance.
Place the berries in a glass baking dish that’s small enough so that the berries fit snugly. Roast for about 2½ hours until the berries shrink considerably and become chewy. Larger berries will take longer to cook.
While the berries are cooking, make the chocolate balsamic. Boil the balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan until reduced by half. Remove from heat. Swirl in chocolate until melted.
Drizzle over roasted strawberries and enjoy!
